House of Paws Kennel-Purchase and Kennel Policies

All of our puppies require a $100.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit in order to be held for a customer.  We will not hold a puppy for a customer without a deposit. Customers have exactly one week to send us their deposit. If we have not received the said deposit within the one week timeline, the puppy will be posted as available once again. We accept cash, money order, and Pay Pal. Pay Pal is subject to a 3% user’s fee and NYS Sales Tax (8%). If a customer does not live in NYS, they are not subject to the 8% sales tax, but are still required to pay the additional 3% users fee for the use of Pay Pal.  We do not accept personal checks. Puppies will be chosen by the order in which the deposits are received.  We do not make any exceptions to this rule.  Deposits are kept track of by the time and date in which they are received.  The deposit order is then determined by this data.  A puppy is not considered sold until a deposit is received. All sales are final.

Deposits are non-refundable and must be provided in order for a puppy to be held. Please do not try and manipulate our deposit policy! A deposit is a legal and binding contract. It is for this reason we send a receipt for your records, in addition to a confirmation letter. This policy is in place to assure that the puppy selection process is fair for all interested families and to ensure our puppies find good homes.

We are no longer selling our puppies with Full AKC registration. All puppies will be sold with Limited AKC registration as pets only. As the breeders of the above mentioned kennel, we reserve the right to screen all potential adoptive puppy families. Limited-registration entitles the new owner to the puppy’s AKC papers, but the puppy cannot be used for breeding or show.  The AKC does allow dogs with limited-registration to participate in some events, such as agility events. We will ship our puppies within the continental U.S. only.  Shipping is an additional $305.00 and is contingent on weather conditions.  These conditions are set forth by the FAA and are strictly enforced.  Full payment for the puppy and shipping charges are due when the puppy turns 7 weeks of age.  We will not make any shipping arrangements or airline reservations without payment.  We also do not accept cash upon delivery.

All puppies leave the kennel for their new homes after they have reached 8 weeks of age.  There are no exceptions to this rule!  While the puppies are in our care, they receive their first set of immunizations, are de-wormed, and are vet-checked.  All of our puppies are fed Nutro Puppy Max after they have been weaned from their mother. All of our adult dogs are fed Nutro Max. Nutro brand dog food can be found at PetSmart and many local farm storms. Each of our puppies comes with a health certificate signed by our veterinarian and a health guarantee.

Customers are able to come and interact with their puppy after they have reached six weeks of age, have received their first set of immunizations, and have been weaned from their mother.  We do not allow any interaction before this time as it is a health risk to the puppies and mother alike.  The health and well being of our puppies and dogs is our first priority.  This is a one time interaction. We request that a customer call or email us to make an appointment during our business hours in order to visit.

Pictures of the puppies are taken once a week.  Pictures are normally taken on Sundays, but this is subject to change at our discretion.  Pictures of the puppies are emailed to customers at their request.

Customers must call or email us to make an appointment when the puppies become available for pick up.  Pick up times are during business hours only! We will make different arrangements if a significant conflict occurs for our customers.  On the day that a customer picks up their puppy, the remaining balance will have to be paid by cash or money-order that day.   We will not allow a puppy to leave for its new home without final payment.

Customers are not allowed into our kennel facility under any circumstances at any time.  This is to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of our dogs. People can carry many parasites and viruses on their shoes and bodies that can be life threatening to dogs.  Even dogs that are up-to-date on their vaccinations can be susceptible to illnesses caused by parasites and viruses.   There are no exceptions to this policy.

We possess the right to place all puppies into the adoptive homes that we feel will be the best match for the adoptive family and puppy alike.  If an agreement cannot be reached, we have the right to hold the our puppies

We do not have a bathroom that is available to the public.  Please make arrangements for restroom stops before arriving at our home.  In the event of an emergency, we would certainly be willing to work with a customer and/or the family members that are with them.
